Is Australia A Safe Place To Travel Alone?
Many travellers who have that wanderlust choose to travel alone. We will consider why this is, and also look at whether one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world is a safe place to travel alone. That country is Australia.
Why travel alone?
Let’s look at just 3 reasons;
Freedom
When travelling on your own you have no one to answer to but yourself! This means you have freedom to roam wherever you please. You will most likely have a rough plan in your head as to where you intend to go, but that plan can be totally flexible because if something takes your fancy you can go for it. No group of friends or fellow travellers to please. You can change your plans at any time.
Flexibility
You may have planned to stay in a certain place for a particular length of time before moving on. If you are in a group this becomes more rigid. When you are travelling alone if you like particular places you stay a little longer, if you don’t you move on earlier.
Making new friends
This is crucial to many lone travellers, and much of the reason they chose to wander. When you are on your own it makes it far easier to mix and talk with other like-minded wanderers! You can strike up some cracking relationships, share experiences and garner travel information which is beneficial to all.
You may also decide to hook-up with some of them for a leg of your journey, but the joy is you can head off your own way whenever you feel it is time to.
Is it safe to travel Australia alone?

If you are going on a walk in the bush or to a remote beach on your own then always make sure you tell your hostel where you are going and when you expect to be back. Never go out without water and sunscreen. These two things are essential!
