Use Bus Charter in Newcastle for Your Day Trips!

If you are planning a day trip in Newcastle, you will be delighted to know that there is a wide selection of destinations and attractions to choose from. However, some destinations are located far from each other and it can be extremely tedious to get to each location with public transportation. With that in mind, using Newcastle bus charter is definitely recommended if you want to make traveling to and fro destinations convenient and safe, or you don’t want to be behind the wheel. Here’s a look at Newcastle day trip ideas you can consider:

Newcastle Day Trips to Hunter Valley

At Hunter Valley, you will get a taste of the good life and there is a wide variety of attractions to explore, including food and wine tours. With year-round attractions such as luxurious spa retreats, premier golf courses, air balloon rides, and more to choose from, you will have plenty of chances to admire Hunter Valley’s stunning scenery.

  • Hunter Valley Gardens and the Gardens Village

Hunter Valley Gardens span over 25 acres and boasts of 10 stunning feature gardens. If you are looking to connect with nature at its most beautiful, this area guarantees a fantastic experience. What’s more, there is an 8-kilometre wheelchair-friendly walk around the gardens that will take visitors past 6000 trees and some of the most iconic views in the Hunter Valley region. When your visit to the Gardens is over, you can even get some retail therapy at the Hunter Valley Gardens Village. An array of boutique speciality shops is located here too!

  • Krinklewood Biodynamic Vineyard

You are definitely in for a pleasant surprise when you make your way through the picturesque gardens and the cellar door at Krinklewood Biodynamic Vineyard. Krinklewood is a ground-breaking, 100% biodynamic, sustainable farm that is actually family-owned. The biodynamic winery even makes rosé from 100% estate-gown vines!

When you arrive at the winery and come across its delectable creations, such as chardonnay, semillon and basket press shiraz, you might be mistaken for a short moment for thinking you have actually journeyed to France. In addition, the husband-and-wife duo – the owners – produce wine products that actually tastes of where it is grown. You have to try them out yourself to know what they meant!

Newcastle Day Trips to Port Stephens

Looking for a well-known seaside holiday destination that’s located north of Newcastle? Try Port Stephens! It is located east of the Hunter Valley and features a great array of beautiful beaches and turquoise waters (note that they are crystal clear too!) What’s more, Port Stephens is home to hundreds of bottlenose dolphins. If this is one of your day trip destinations, here are some things to do:

  • Tilligerry Habitat Reserve

Welcome to the Tilligerry Habitat Reserve! It is a nine-hectare flora and fauna reserve that is situated along the sandy foreshore on Tanilba Bay. What can you expect to see and experience in this area? For starters, you can start strolling along their easy walking tracks that feature boardwalks and gravel paths. A great escape from city life as the sounds of nature and non-concrete footstep sounds engulf your mind.

Along the way, make sure you take in the scenic views of the swamp mahogany paperbark forest. If time allows, you can also consider visiting the native nursery. There are many native birds here so you will also get plenty of bird watching opportunities. If you are interested in this area’s local history and culture, guided walks are available too!

  • Toboggan Hill Park

While dolphins, sunshine and beaches are some of the main elements that make the Port Stephens region famous, there is a great array of child-oriented and family-friendly attractions here too. One of the most notable attractions include the ever-popular Toboggan Hill Park in Nelson Bay. As a whole, Toboggan Hill Park resembles a miniature amusement park and provides visitors with a range of activities such as its signature toboggans. The toboggans have remained, for many years, the highlight of the attraction.

Due to the park’s favourable location, you get to enjoy the fun that is contained within this location, with a peaceful and pleasantly cool backdrop. If you are coming here, you must remember to try the toboggan tracks. They stretch an impressive 1 kilometre and feature numerous bends and turns along the way. If you want to take in the scenic views, be sure to go slow (sit upright).

Newcastle Day Trips to Port Macquarie

Port Macquarie is undoubtedly a diverse region as it is packed with many attractions from Laurieton to Wauchope and North Haven to Kendall. It will be great to have your own transport that drives you around the area’s touring routes. Many cultural adventures await you as the gentle drives twist through natural reserves that are filled with Aboriginal heritage.

  • Port Macquarie Hastings Heritage

Established by Mitch McKay, Port Macquarie Hastings Heritage is an award-winning museum that has been around for more than two decades. It won the North Coast Tourism Award for Business Excellence. Here, you will be able to participate in two notable tours, and they are “Uncovering our Past” and “Historic Cemetery”. The former is a tour that provides a general introduction to Port Macquarie. You will be able to listen to stories, visit some of their historical sights and more.

If one tour is not enough for you, “Historic Cemetery” should be next on your list. This is an informative tour that takes you through Port Macquarie’s Historic Cemetery. It is the second burying ground where thousands of settlers, soldiers and convicts are buried. The tour shares with visitors the history of the cemetery, provides visitors an opportunity to hear about the ongoing conservation of the monuments as well as intriguing stories of some of its occupants.

  • Bago Vineyards and Maze

Bago Vineyards and Maze is just an easy drive away from Port Macquarie. Here, the striking Bago Vineyards offer a unique experience as you taste their traditional, varietal and sparkling wines and local cheeses in a rustic setting. If you want to take in the beautiful scenery here, make sure to lose yourself in the Bago Maze. This is possibly one of Greater Port Macquarie’s best kept secrets so be sure to check this destination out. As this is also the home of Jazz, Bago’s very own Jazz in the Vineyards event is held on the 2nd Sunday of each month. For more entertainment updates, make sure you check their website.
