Unusual Experiences While Traveling in Australia
Australia is a vast country that appeals to many types of traveler. With such a diverse range of landscapes and cultures, all together with pretty good weather, it is hardly surprising that there is a lot to do.
Yet, when you make a big trip, you kinda want to make it something to remember. You want to create your own story and return home with a few unique tales. Let’s be honest, we also want our friends to be impressed, but preferably insanely jealous.
This is why we are going to look at some of the more unique experiences Australia is serving up:
Balmoral and Middle Head
When you go to the beach, normally you expect sand, sea and sun. However, in this area there are a few extra things to check out nearby. These beaches are fantastic for families and explorers of all ages. The waters are pretty safe too, but the caves and old military tunnels nearby add a whole new level of cool to the equation. The tunnels are a part of George Head,near the main beach. From the Vietnam war, they are now open.The spooky feel is hard to explain, but they are certainly worth a look and a good link to a bit of history for those with children.
Climb Up To The Top Of Sydney Harbour Bridge!
No, it isn’t a dare or breaking the law, but an actual event you can book. If you think the views of Sydney Harbour are amazing, imagine the view from the middle, up on top of the bridge! Not to mention the photos of you standing up there.
Tour on a Segway!
I guess it had to happen eventually. At least with Australia, you don’t just feel like you are being lazy. With the vast distances, parks and amazing scenery, a Segway tour could be the solution. That’s not even including the amount of fun that you will have while mastering this unique mode of transport.
BBQ Boat Party
This had to be mentioned. It may not seem extreme, but it is a combination of iconic Aussie activities; barbecues, fishing and drinking beer. You don’t have to include the fishing, but as you have a barbecue ready, it is a great addition. The feeling of exploring a stunning new area, sunbathing or dancing on the decks and cooking up some good Aussie tucker, is incredible and all come together to make this a wonderful day out. Available in many locations, you can choose crocodile infested waters, or a quiet little lake. How extreme you make the day is up to you.
