How To Plan Your Trip to Australia
Make no bones about it; this will be a trip of a lifetime. We are talking Australia! If you are going to this wonderful country you want to make the most of it. Here are a few things you should plan beforehand to ensure a travel experience that will live long in your memory.
Finances
Sorry, but it is a reality; while Australia is a country that has everything it can be expensive! Unless you have wealthy parents or are wealthy in your own right then you need to save, save, save before you leave.
Take a part-time job (or two!) and make the effort to get as much money together as possible. While this may seem hard at the time you will reap the reward as you are lying on the beach, travelling through the bush, or relaxing with a drink in hand watching some stunning sunsets.
Distance
The country is HUGE! Please do your homework when planning your trip. Unless you have enough money to fly everywhere it will take you time to get from point to point by road. While the roads are in good repair you need to allow enough time to ensure you are not rushing around and missing out on the good life.
You cannot cover the whole country in one trip so decide exactly what you want to see and where you want to go, this schedule should be extremely flexible because one thing is for sure; there will be places you want to spend longer in that you had first anticipated.
Insurance
You need travel and medical cover. The likelihood that there will be any problems is small, but do not take the unnecessary risk. If you are covered then you will have peace of mind.
Contacts in the country
If you have any distant family, friends, or Australians you have hooked up with on other holidays then use them to the max! This really will benefit you in many ways. Aussies are really friendly and sociable people who were born to travel. They know exactly what it is like to be away from home. By meeting them in their own environment you will be assured of feeling as if you were at home!
They will offer tips on the local area and further afield, introduce you to their friends and family and by doing so you will be increasing your ever-widening circle of friends.
