The mysterious disappearance of a 2-month old baby Azaria Chamberlain in Ayers Rock was a chilling event that captured the fascination of a country. This unique play will revisit Lindy’s story and discover the relationship with one of the most iconic figures of 20th century. Daylong Mindfulness Retreat
Dr Sharn Rocc, the mindfulness teacher is coming to Brisbane this winter to lead a day long mindfulness retreat on August 4. It is for anyone who wants more confidence, balance and peace in life, and has benefits for people experiencing fatigue, anxiety, depression, illness, breakdown or overwork. This retreat will be taking place full day by the river at the Brisbane Sailing Club. It will include opportunities to soak up the beauty of the surroundings, while practising and learning the postures of meditation and the fundamentals of mindfulness.
Steam Train Sunday

Sogetsu Ikebana Queensland Exhibition 2018
Ikebana is an ancient Japanese art of arranging flowers, and is an artistic way of life that helps in enriching the mode of your self-being and the notion of your environment. This magical show will take place right in front of your eyes at the annual exhibition of Sogetsu Ikebana Queensland at Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens on the 18th and 19th of August. The Energy of Sogetsu will be the theme for this year’s exhibition, presenting an opportunity for the members to showcase unique and distinct style presented by Ikebana, in comparison to Western Floral artistry. It is much more than arranging flowers, as it creates statements of originality by applying different rules of construction using living and inert plant materials.
Crochet for Beginners

Brisbane SpringFest 2018
Showcasing the vibrant community spirit of Salisbury, this popular annual event of Brisbane SpringFest will be held on the 25th of August. All teachers, caregivers, parents and students are invited to SpringFest for a fun-filled day of entertainment, food and shopping. ‘Flying into Spring’ will be the theme for this year. It’s a celebration of all champagne this August, with the effervescence festival kicking off on the 31st with a bigger program, and representatives from major French champagne house, in the beautiful city of Spicers Hidden Vale retreat. It’s an open invitation to all the champagne lovers, as the event combines hospitality and country ambiance with luxury in a massive area of bushland with magnificent views. This extravaganza is a brainchild of a champagne educator Amanda Reboul or ‘The Bubble Diva’.
