This year’s Environmental film festival, starting 11th of October, will be showcasing some of the best films in the world, focused on environment. As many as 580 entries were submitted, out of which 43 films have been selected for screening. ‘Face the Films’ is the underlying theme for the event, which urges the community to deal with animal rights, land conversation, indigenous issues and climate change. ‘Into the Okavango’ will be the opening film of the night, which shows the efforts being put to save one of the remaining wildlife habitats in the world.
St Kilda Silent Festival

The St Kilda Silent Festival on the 12th of October will be featuring more than 40 DJs playing everything from EDM to RnB and Jazz to blues. Melbourne Marathon Festival 2018
You don’t have to be a marathon runner to take part in this exciting event on the 14th of October. You can choose from the half-marathon, or the 3, 5 or 10 km runs. All the events have a finishing point at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which in itself is an iconic spot. Being one of the largest marathons in Australia, the event attracts more than 30,000 participants, who will run past some of the most iconic landmarks including Albert Park Lake, Botanic Gardens and Flinders Street Station.
Darebin Music Feast
Developing and supporting the eclectic music culture of Darebin, the music feast will bring 11 days of non-stop entertainment, starting 18th of October. Packed with local talents and emerging performers, it is expected to be one stellar event. Once again hosting the opening party will be the Darebin Arts Centre, screening the documentary ‘Her Sound, Her Story’, which seeks to unveil the unconscious and conscious bias in the music industry. It will also highlight the impact women have within the national music industry. Showcasing the empowerment, modern community spirit and diversity, the SONIC brings together an amazing line-up featuring Wahe, Jesswar, Girl Zone and PICAA Choir.
Porsche Festival
Porsche is turning younger by the day, having designed some of the most unique German cars over 70 years. The 356 designed by Ferry Porsche was the first ever car that came out in 1948. On the 21st of October, the Porsche Club of Victoria is rejoicing this milestone, dedicated to Porsche enthusiasts.
