Why should you visit the Melbourne zoo?
Though you have the option to visit an African wild life park, you will never get an opportunity to watch animals in close quarters. Also, you will be able to watch only a limited number of animals in a wild life park. When you visit Melbourne Zoo, you will be able to watch animals from different parts of the world in one place. The following are some of the attractions of the zoo you will love to visit.
Visiting its butterfly house is a memorable experience, especially for your kids. You can see thousands of butterflies in lush vegetation that provides the environment for them to live. These colourful flying insects are extremely attractive.
Asian elephants left in the setting of an Asian village are a treat to watch. You can watch the adult elephants feed and calves playing in an open area. There are volunteer guides to help you enjoy watching these majestic animals.
The Orangutan Sanctuary in Melbourne Zoo is an attraction you will never miss. You can see these animals which are the largest tree mammals climbing trees, swinging and feeding as if they are in their own jungle habitat. You are provided with an elevated pathway to view them better.
Wild Sea is the largest area left for visitors to watch marine life. There is a wooden peer from which you can watch the fish swim. Sand dunes are there to walk. Also, there are seals and penguins roaming in their natural habitat. You can also see two pelicans brought to the zoo after they have been found injured in the wild.
You are welcome to watch seals diving and swimming in their pool that is five meters in depth. They also do come out of water to show you that they can live outside water as well.
