When the summer arrives at our doorsteps, it is natural that we will start thinking of hitting the beach. Now, if you are arriving in Australia, the friendly Down Under land, for a vacation during summer, you might be eager to know which Australian beaches (there are more than 7000 of them!) would be worth your time and probably worth showing your bikinis and trunks off at.
Here is our pick of the top 5 Australian beaches that you won’t want to miss:
Whitehaven beach @ Whitsunday Island
Stretched over seven whooping kilometers, along the largest island in the Whitsundays, the Whitehaven beach is certainly a haven that boasts of white sand (apparently whitest in the world) as well as crystal clear water. Smacked right in the midst of Coral Sea and the Great Barrier Reef, this beach is popular with beachgoers due to the picture-perfect scenery you can catch there.
Bondi Beach @ Sydney
The world-famous Bondi beach is really bustling all year round because of its status as a premium surfing beach. There is a busy stretch of hip and trendy bars, clubs, shops and cafes that are often swamping with backpackers. Be warned though, the current is really strong and if you are going to surf the waves, make sure that you are seasoned enough to do so. The good thing is there are lifeguards stationed on duty here.
Bells Beach @ Victoria
You can expect nothing but quality surf over here. This beach is also home to the annual “Rip Curl Pro” surfing competition. You can also visit the Surfworld (Australian museum for surfing) easily in its vicinity. Aqua water, hot surfers, and golden sand what else can you ask for more?
Cable Beach @ Broome
Located in Western Australia, this beach is suited for those who like to take things slower and more peacefully. The Cable Beach is known as a great drive-in beach with over 22 kilometers of white sand waiting for you. The scenery is just as nice as other Australian beaches but you can certainly feel the zen and calm in this beach!
Cottesloe @ Perth
The coastline at this beach is cleanly shaped and you can easily spot lots of Australian folks sunbathing, surfing or simply enjoying the landscape at Cottesloe. One can easily describe this beach as a family beach. If you are interested in beach cricket, this is the best spot in Australia for it!
