About Yarramundi
Yarramundi is a suburban region in Sydney, located to the west of Sydney CBD. The suburb got its name from an indigenous Australian, Yarramundi of the Boorooberongal clan. He was known to be a doctor and the Europeans called him ‘the chief of the Richmond Tribe”. The region was initially known as the Kearns Retreat. Yellomundee Regional Park
This protected regional park is located on the eastern cliff of the Blue Mountains region in New South Wales, covering an area of 485 hectare. The park stretches from Emu Heights and Mount Riverview to Yarramundi and comprises of several lookouts, hiking tracks, horse-riding and mountain biking pathways. This is a park with difference as only about 1/5th of the land has been modified. It contains historical and cultural sites as well as large areas of natural bushland. The park also protects areas of riverine and alluvial plant communities.
