Why you should visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship
The gardens here have been designed on the traditional lines of a private garden of the Ming dynasty. They are an ideal insight in to the architecture and design of this era. The design of the Chinese garden of Friendship was optimized by Guangzhou in China (also known as the Chinese sister city of Sydney). The gardens were the setting for the 1995 superhero movie Mighty Morphin Power Rangers – Dulceaâs Compound (20th Century Fox).
The unique features of the garden include a wistfulness and peace that is very difficult to find in the heart of a bustling city. You can also enjoy tangible features such as the courtyard of welcoming fragrance and the water pavilion of lotus fragrance. The dragon wall and the twin pavilion are idyllic settings for a romantic walk or just absorbing the sights. The Gurr, Rock forest and Penjing are also incredibly charming features for visitors to soak up the dynastical traditions of the Ming.
Take your time in the garden with a cup of fragrant jasmine tea or just experience oriental hospitality with a blend of teas in the Chinese Teahouse adjacent to the gardens. You can also feed the crumbs from your dining plate with the birds in the gardens who are surprisingly bold (as they will fly right into your hands for the nibbles).
The gardens are an ideal setting for intimate weddings or small receptions. They are spread over several acres of natural design, which include waterfalls, pavilions and lakes. You cannot see the ends of the garden from any point in it. You can also find incredible sculptures strewn across the gardens at vital points The Ibis and The Fish.
